For the first time at AfricaCom, Telecel Group is partnering with AHUB to help Africa’s youngest innovators

November, 2019 – Group CEO of Telecel Group, Mr. Mohamad Damush, initiated a partnership between Telecel Group and AHUB for AfricaCom, which is the largest African Telco, Media, and Technology Event. Taking place in Cape Town, South Africa on 12-14 November 2019, AfricaCom accelerates enterprise digital transformation to elevate economies across African countries. Telecel Group will select 16 startups to exhibit at their booth, under Africa Startup Initiative Program.

Earlier in 2019, the launch of Africa Startup Initiative Program was announced as part of Telecel Group’s CSR activities.  It aims to contribute in a meaningful way to Africa by supporting young individuals who strive to better their lives and the lives of their communities. The Africa Startup Initiative program discovers Africa’s most talented entrepreneurs operating in the fields of telecom and technology, and helps them create successful companies at scale. They support the startups via their Accelerator and Investment Programs, by providing the startups with coaching and mentoring, workshops, and access to markets, investors, funding, angel investments and venture capital.

This year, Telecel Group is a Partner Sponsor of AHUB. AHUB is a program which forms partnerships with Africa’s leading accelerators and innovation hubs. The AHUB program highlights the critical role of entrepreneurship as an engine for Africa’s economic growth and stimulates development of Africa’s tech start-up ecosystems.

According to Mr. Mohamad Damush “The selected startups will be able to exhibit at a premium location at the conference and voice their innovative ideas at a panel discussion at the AfricaCom 2019. This will expose them to international technologies, organizations, industry professionals, experts, and investors.”
